Welcome to AEDEM Barcelona 2012. "Creating new opportunities in an uncertain environment" has become the motto of a conference in which we aspire to achieve the highest peaks of research excellence. The Congress will start with the participation in a plenary lecture by Professor Finn Kydland, Nobel laureate, who with their presence will enrich and enhance the convention. Moreover, the publication of a selection of our works by Springer will increase dramatically the quality and dissemination of our research papers internationally.
